Colony is a middle range SF, with action and an easily digestible plot in which the earth was occupied by a race of aliens who imposed new rules of coexistence. Thus our world was divided into zones, and cities into Colonies, led by a governor and Homeland Security aka RedHats, a paramilitary force tasked with ensuring public order and peace. Obviously, where we have repression organs, we also have resistance groups led here by a guy named Geronimo, who fought brilliantly against the extraterrestrial order The story of Colony revolves around the Bowman family, he a former investigative detective, currently wanted for terrorism, and she is the pub owner and sympathizer with the anti-alien resistance. Through an interesting context of circumstances, the two arrive to collaborate with the authorities, i.e. he to perform the job of a detective within the investigation division of Homeland Security with the express task of liquidating the cells of the resistance, and she to become a business woman again approved by the authorities, but "forced" by the insurgents to spy on her husband in order to provide valuable information to the resistance led by Geronimo, the voice of American freedom fighters. Obviously, the story gets complicated, when he starts to suspect that something is wrong with his wife and that all his police work is going down the drain on Saturday. In this family cat and mouse game, new characters appear that interestingly color a simple and easy to follow story. Josh Holloway (Lost, Yellowstone) plays the inspired role of the collaborative detective Will Bowman, and Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break), who plays Katie Bowman, is careful with the role and proves that she has a good command of the art of suspense acquired in The Walking Dead. The pair Callies - Holloway are joined by Tory Kittles (True Detective) who plays the role of the terrorist in charge of the guns and the resistance and Peter Jacobson an actor with old states in television that we have seen before in Dr House or The Americans.
The series is actually a detective sci-fi, written according to a good recipe, not expired, with well-dosed ingredients of action and suspense, which caught me from the first. It deserves to be watched and appreciated. Unfortunately and absolutely inexplicably, the series, reaching season 3, had a fatal fate. Although many people believed that the story would have at least 5, 6 seasons, the figures behind the production voted for a cancellation of the entire series. The decision of the producers surprised many people because the story gathered behind it a fairly large audience, the first season ticking over 2.3 million viewers. Unfortunately, the second and third seasons had weaker numbers (1.6 and 1.4 million viewers, respectively) and this led to the cancellation of the series. Sin...
